Impractical Jokers Take NYC is a free mobile game based on the popular television show Impractical Jokers. The basic premise sees the player join the Impractical Jokers crew in New York City, take on a variety of challenges and face up to punishments inspired by the show.

While the core gameplay loop differs, Impractical Jokers Take NYC broadly follows in the footsteps of other mobile games based on television shows. These include Jackass Human Slingshot and The Simpsons: Tapped Out.

Create a new cast member

When players begin with Impractical Jokers Take NYC, they will need to create a character, who will then join the Impractical Jokers cast. This involves selecting a basic appearance, including skin color and hairstyle, as well as clothing. New outfits can be unlocked so that the new Joker cast member can be fully customized.

There are a total of more than 20 mini-games, and earning in-game achievements will open up new content. By completing missions, players can unlock a total of four zones - Staten Island, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

Building on its predecessor

The game builds on some of the features included in the previous Impractical Jokers mobile game, Impractical Jokers Wheel of Doom. The fundamental difference sees Impractical Jokers Take NYC introduce an open world with different areas to unlock, making the concept of joining the crew much more immersive.

It should be noted that the Impractical Jokers crew in the game consists of the current trio, James Murray, Brian Quinn, and Sal Vulcano. So, what happened to Joe Gatto from Impractical Jokers? The former cast member made the decision to leave the show in 2021, so it is not featured in Impractical Jokers Take NYC.

Impractical Jokers Take NYC presents a stylized cartoon version of the Impractical Jokers crew, with the customizable player character joining the cast and recreating some of the fun associated with the show.
